In addition, SNFAC will once again be hosting their 16th annual fundraising event at the theatre with a raffle as well as take home coffee samples from the folks from the award winning Canadian firm Kicking Horse Coffee for all attendees.
This year a full lineup of 19 different films will be shown over both nights. Content as always is incredibly diverse including mountain culture, travel, human interest and a wide array of sports such as skiing and curling. This year’s lineup includes the film “Crossing the Ice” which picked up multiple awards including Banff’s “Grand Prize” award and the “People’s Choice Award”. After many have tried and all have failed, Australian adventurers James Castrission and Justin Jones set out and complete their unassisted journey across Antarctica to the South Pole and back. “Crossing the Ice” is packed with drama, humor, great adventure along with surprises during their journey. Picking up “The Banff Centre Award for Creative Excellence”, “Petzl RocTrip China” is also on deck to be shown. A climbing film it combines many great elements of exotic location along with a solid sound track of infectious music and cultures coming together.
