Sun Valley's thriving art scene offers a variety of different and exciting mediums. The Sun Valley area was listed 18th in the book, The 100 Best Small Art Towns in America - "a great small art town with a nice balance between the visual arts, theater, and music." Art galleries and craft shows showcase local talent, theater groups perform professional pieces in various local venues, and the sounds of symphony and jazz fill the summer's crisp night air and cozy winter nights.

Free Exhibition Tour will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 2pm or by arrangement. Trained docucents offer new insight into the art-work on display The art exhibit for the Sun Valley Center for the Arts' Multidisciplinary Project, Outside In: Indian Art Abroad begins on December 18 and runs through February 20. The exhibit explores the arts of India through the lens of Indian artists, writers and filmmakers. Participating artists are: Chitra Ganesh, Gauri Gill, Baseera Kjsm and Annu Palakunnathu Matthew. The Sun Valley Center for the Arts is offering a free guided tour on Tuesday, February 9 at 2pm of its current exhibiton, Outside In: Indian Art Abroad. The exhibition is part of a multidisciplinary project that presents work made by Indaian artists, writers and filmmakers who primarily live outside India. Also on display is a small exhibition of artwork from the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California, exploring the role of the Hindu god Ganesha. Additional tour, led by curators or trained volunteers called docents, are scheduled for Thursday, February 18 at 5:30pm. Food Flicks in February Film Festival ~ Tortilla Soup United States, 103 min. Semi-retired, Mexican-American chef Martin Naranjo shares a suburban Los Angeles home with his three adult daughters. Although he has lost the senses of taste and smell since his wife's death, he still cooks elaborate, multi-course meals for his family and friends. The Center in Hailey opens December 4th with Gay Bawa Odmark's exhibition. It features pieces that explore themes such as the god Ganesha, the symbolism of the lotus, the tradition of painting hands and feet with henna and Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. Combining painting, photography, eching, chine-colle and stitchery, these delicate works reflect the influence of India on Odmark's artistic practice at the same time that they are uniquely personal artworks.

Opening Reception - Friday, February 12th from 5:00-8:00pm. Catalan-born artists, Quim Bove and Marta Moreu, will debut their latest work in two consecutive solo shows "Nova Stream" and "Connection" in Sun Valley this February. Both shows will open at Gallery DeNovo on January 29th and will run through February. Both Bove and Moreu will attend the opening reception on February 12th. Bove will be available for a discussion about his work on Thursday, February 11th from 5-6pm and Moreu will be available for a discussion of her work on Saturday, February 13th from 4-5pm. Betsy Eby - "The Red Paintings" This will be the first solo exhibition at the Gail Servern Gallery for nationally recognized painter Betsy Eby. Betsy's fluid encaustic pieces draw the viewer in for a closer look with their delicate movement and light.
Jonathon Hexner This will be the first solo exhibition at the Gail Severn Gallery for award winning artisit Jonathon Hexner. Hexner's works on paper are conceptually based in chemical Photography in that they are reactions on paper.
