Sun Valley Freestyle Ski & Skateboard Champion Ben Parker
Ben Parker: I am 14 years old and I enjoy skiing, skateboarding, and videography. The reason that I love skiing is because I enjoy the feeling of freedom that I get. While I’m skiing I love the feeling of never ending possibilities. I’m always trying to think of any thing creative that I can do like a new grab or a better way to land to make your trick look better. The reason that I like skateboarding is because I can hang with my friends learn new tricks and always improve myself. Skateboarding also gives me the feeling of freedom. And finally a side hobby that I enjoy doing is cinematography. While I’m filming I will always try to make it the best that I can. Portraying whatever I'm filming in its best light. It goes for anything else that I do. If I ever mess up I will try until I've mastered it.
My accomplishments for skiing are: 2009 Junior Olympics in New Hampshire, event - Men’s half pipe which I received third place. Overall ranking for half pipe in the nation 4th. Slope style overall for nation 3rd. Best trick is a 1080 a cork 900 and a rodeo 720.
My accomplishments for skateboarding are: Concrete Rodeo Competition in Buhl Idaho 2nd overall. Concrete Rodeo McCall Idaho 1stoverall. Concrete Rodeo finals 3rd place.
I enjoy every thing that I do or I wouldn’t do it. I'd love a fun side job of filming to try and make money for skiing competitions. And competing against myself in everything that I do.
