Ahhh, the reason d' etre. Let's not kid ourselves, Sun Valley is the perfect environment for competition, perfectly groomed sloops, miles and miles of the best cross country trails, golf courses that make your palms itch, and trails that are unparalleled when it comes to mountain biking. It is no wonder there are so many sports events and competitions that take place in Sun Valley. Listed are a few yearly favorites. A 4-part series presented by Mud Honeys for women 15+ is designed to "school" you in the basics of Mountain Biking, and help you get out there and ride with confidence while meeting some new friends along the way. June 28: "What's In Your Saddle Bag"-learn basic tools, trail etiquette, proper equipment July 19: "Shifting Gears"-learn how to shift your gears for getting where you want to go August 16: "High Maintenance"-learn how to change a flat and basic maintenance September 13: "Got Skills?"-learn how to ride switchbacks and over a log Classes start indoors and progress to outside. Bring your bike, helmet, and excitement! Fee reduction for signing up for the whole series: $50 member, $70 nonmembers. Nappy's Wednesday Night Bike Rides begin on April 14th. Everyone departs from the Elephants Perch. Arrive early and be ready to ride at 6:15p.m. sharp. All levels of riders welcome! You will learn group road riding techniques and bike handling skills. This is a 100% fun ride with no one left behind. Helmets are required. Join a member of our guiding team and learn to fly cast, or brush up on that double haul technique. With our new location in Sun Valley, we are now able to offer nightly casting clinics to all who are curious or just a little rusty. We'll be offering nightly sessions Tuesdays thru Saturdays on the lawn in front of the Sun Valley Lodge from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
