Bug Zoo! (cancelled) @ Sawtooth Botanical Garden
11:00 am
The Sawtooth Botanical Garden (SBG) announces its plans for fall of 2020. Smaller fundraising events will replace the Gimlets in the Garden gala fundraiser. The Bug Zoo, which was previously postponed, will be cancelled. The Bug Zoo, SBG’s annual display of creatures and critters from near and far, was postponed following closure of area schools in the spring. The Bug Zoo is typically held in late April/early May. Tentative plans to postpone the event, a two-week affair of classroom visits to the five-acre public botanical garden south of Ketchum to learn about aspect of ecology and effects of climate change, are now cancelled due to the still existing concern surrounding the global pandemic. “Because of the uncertainty regarding in-school activities this fall, we felt it best to hold the Bug Zoo again when safety protocols have been lifted or drastically adjusted,” said Executive Director Jen Smith. ++++++++++++++ The 16th annual Bug Zoo kicks off with the Bug Zoo Festival on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 11 a.m.–3 p.m.  This year Bug Zoo features the ever-fascinating concept of Survival! Get up close and personal with some of Bug Zoo’s famous creatures, make critter crafts, do a bug scavenger hunt, play buggy games and more! The first week’s final entry is a modern classic.  The 1976 Oscar-winning satire on the television news business, Network, which turned out to be frighteningly prescient of television news today. Currently, the festival line up includes Warren Miller’s bio-epic Ski Bum, a quirky British mystery/comedy Sometime Always Never, the third marvelous travelogue with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan, The Trip to Greece, ...

Sawtooth Valley Gathering @ Sawtooth Valley Pioneer Park | Stanley | Idaho | United States
12:00 am
Dearest Sawtooth Family, While we held out hope to be together in our home away from home this year, all things considered, we just can’t find the ethical grounds to proceed as planned in light of the current COVID-19 status. With that said, together with the City of Stanley, we’ve decided to postpone the 6th annual Sawtooth Valley Gathering to the summer of 2021. We feel that this will give us the best chance to festival with the comfort, freedom, and safety that we’ve always known, and look forward to the opportunity of sharing that space again soon. We’re going to follow up with our new dates and full rollover information next week, so please stay tuned. The Sawtooth Valley Gathering is a dream that has existed largely through the support of our loyal fans and local businesses. Boutique festivals like ours basically start at zero each year and slowly come to life via ticket sales. That money goes towards expenses and deposits, most of which can’t be recovered or transferred. With that in mind, we hope that you, the ticket buyer, will consider investing in our event by rolling over your purchase to join us next summer. Doing so ...
