Welcome to the Garden of Infinite Compassion. This Garden was created in September 2005 to honor the visit of the Dalai Lama to the Wood River Valley. A contemplative garden, it is a place of both inner and outer repose; it is a place where we abandon the chatter of our minds and the distractions of our lives to enter the serenity of nature and find the calm of a quiet mind. The Rocks There are sixteen dominant rocks in the Garden which represent the sixteen Arhats, or disciples, of the Buddha.  The impressive rocks serve as silent sentinels but also serve to retain the soil as the slope drops six feet from the top of the stream to the bottom. The Serenity Pond The Serenity Pond features riparian plants while nearby a memorial bench sits in the aspen grove as a place for quiet contemplation.  In the center of the pond is a beautiful quartz crystal from Minas Gerais, Brazil.  The crystal’s tip was broken, most likely, by earth movement during its formation millions of years ago. The Power of We: Sun Valley Forum Series Kick-off

For 2020, the Sun Valley Forum will be online, and we have reworked the program into a year-round series of events. This new model allows the Forum to address the pressing needs of our communities at a critical time, to host a wider, more diverse audience, and to give more attention to advancing high-impact global projects. The 2020 Virtual Sun Valley Forum Series will kick off with a Forum Community reunion, The Power of We, on June 29th. Here we will hear how our Forum community is addressing the COVID-19 crisis, begin framing the work of the Sun Valley Spark Projects, and set the groundwork for the Sun Valley Forum Forging the Future Summer Series. We’ll continue with the series July 14 and August 18 – more details to come!

The Power of We: Sun Valley Forum Series Kick-off

For 2020, the Sun Valley Forum will be online, and we have reworked the program into a year-round series of events. This new model allows the Forum to address the pressing needs of our communities at a critical time, to host a wider, more diverse audience, and to give more attention to advancing high-impact global projects. The 2020 Virtual Sun Valley Forum Series will kick off with a Forum Community reunion, The Power of We, on June 29th. Here we will hear how our Forum community is addressing the COVID-19 crisis, begin framing the work of the Sun Valley Spark Projects, and set the groundwork for the Sun Valley Forum Forging the Future Summer Series. We’ll continue with the series July 14 and August 18 – more details to come!

The Wood River Farmers Markets offer seasonally available and locally grown fruits and vegetables, organic and grass-fed meats, artisan pies, and other baked goods, honey, specialty products including jams and fermented foods, plant starts for your garden, jewelry, crafts, fresh-cut flowers, and much more! NEW FOR 2020: ONLINE ORDERING & DRIVE-THRU PICK-UP We’re excited to introduce new online ordering and drive-thru pick-up for your safety and convenience! Go to Wrfarmersmarket.org to pre-order and pay online between Friday at 8 am and Sunday at noon. Come to the lower River Run parking lot on Tuesday between 5 and 6 pm to pick up your order. You’ll be given a designated pick-up time based on your last name. WALK-IN MARKET The live market will be open to walk-in customers from 2 to 4:45 pm with COVID-19 safety modifications in place.
