Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf @ Magic Lantern Cinemas | Ketchum | Idaho | United States
4:30 pm
As part of its current BIG IDEA project, The Bottomlessness of a Pond: Transcendentalism, Nature and Spirit, Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) presents “Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf”— a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Thomas Piper that follows the revolutionary Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf over the course of five seasons as he redefines what gardens can be. Hailed by the Hollywood Reporter as “an inspiring sensory immersion,” Thomas Piper’s meditative film reveals how Piet Oudolf has upended conventional notions of nature, public space, and, ultimately, beauty itself. FILM: Love Gilda @ Magic Lantern Cinemas
4:30 pm
LOVE, GILDA opens a unique window into the honest and whimsical world of beloved comedian and performer Gilda Radner, whose greatest role was sharing her story. Working with the Radner estate, director Lisa D’Apolito unearthed a collection of diaries and personal audio and videotapes documenting her childhood, her comedy career, her relationships and ultimately, her struggles with cancer. These never-before-seen-or-heard footage and journal entries form the narrative spine of the documentary, allowing Gilda to tell her own story – through laughter and sometimes tears. In the many ways that people come together to play, improv and comedy are a powerful tool for creating a shared experience of fun. Gilda Radner was a comedian whose sense of silliness and willingness to throw herself into characters gave audiences a chance to let themselves go and connect to others. While play and comedy can bring lightness, it also can serve as a tool to unburden ourselves and to work through difficult circumstances. Do we sometimes hide behind laughter? Is that okay? PART OF THE BIG IDEA PROJECT FREE PLAY.

Martin (Game of Thrones) and morphs into a multi-million dollar corporation in just a few short years. With the opening of its instantly successful exhibition, House of Eternal Return, the group sets its sights on new exhibits around the world. How does a team of ragtag millennial artists become one of the most compelling new startups of this generation, and what will they do next?
