Virtual Book Discussion with Dr. Michele Borba @ Virtual Event

Sun Valley Community School Parents’ Association will host a virtual book discussion via Zoom with best-selling author Dr. Michele Borba Ed.D. on Thursday, April 29 at 12:00 p.m. (MST). The discussion is the third and final in the Parents’ Association’s 2020-21 Book + Speaker Series. This event is free and open to the community. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to read Borba’s best-selling book, Thrivers: The Surprising Reasons Why Some Kids Struggle While Others Shine in advance of the discussion. Guests can go to communityschool.org/news/events for the Zoom link to join the meeting. The Book + Speaker Series is a new program offered by the Parents’ Association. Guests this year have included New York Times bestselling author Jessica Lahey and Dr. Laura Markham, Ph.D., a leading advocate for parents and children, founding editor of AhaParenting.com, and author of the Peaceful Parent book series.

Teen Throwing Summer Camp @ Boulder Mountain Clayworks

Teens, ages middle school and older, will learn the basics of pottery throwing while making mugs, ice cream bowls and all things round. The potters with more experience will design their own projects and try a set of mugs, bowls, etc. July 12th-16th 1:30-4:00, glaze day July 23rd 9:30. Tuition $165
