In collaboration with the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference, The Community Library presents writer Susan Orlean, whose many books reveal the fascinating quirkiness of our world – from the underground culture of orchid enthusiasts and thieves in The Orchid Thief, to the true story of Rin Tin Tin, to her most recent book (which of course we adore!) about libraries, The Library Book, germinating from her research into the Los Angeles Public Library fire of 1986.

Orlean also writes for The New Yorker and other magazines (check out her recent article on consignment shopping and then make a run to the Library’s Gold Mine Consign store!). Orlean will be in conversation with Jenny Emery Davidson, the Library’s executive director, and the program will be followed by a book-signing.

This program will be live streamed from the Library’s website and available for later viewing.
