Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) is pleased to continue its popular after-school youth program, Smart Art!, for the spring 2021 season. With two successful previous sessions held in Fall 2020 and Winter 2021, the weekly arts education program for students in grades 4 and 5 again includes six sessions over the course of six weeks and consists of a variety of creative afternoon art activities and supervised care. Smart Art! will recommence Tuesday, March 9 (for students whose last names begin with M–Z), and Wednesday, March 10 (for students whose last names begin with A–L), and will be held from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

Smart Art! gives students the opportunity to explore a range of art forms, including visual arts, performing arts, literary arts and film, engaging them through variety of creative problem-solving, self-expression and confidence-building projects. Smart Art! is generously supported by the Dawson Family. Scholarships are available in part with support from Lisa Stelck and William Boeger.

“Given the program’s popularity, we are excited to be able to continue with it, even with Blaine County School District’s elementary students returning to school four days a week,” said Katelyn Foley, Director of Education and Humanities at SVMoA. “We welcome students new to the program as well as those who have participated in the past.”

In the interest of community health and safety, SVMoA is adhering to CDC guidelines and the Governor of Idaho’s orders as it invites people back to its museum, classes and programs. Museum visitors and class participants should wear face masks and abide by social distancing recommendations. Anyone who feels ill or lives with someone who is ill should stay at home. Also, SVMoA is limiting the number of participants in its museum and programs to assist with safe social distancing.

Tuition for Smart Art! is $80 for SVMoA members and $100 for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required and scholarships are available, so please inquire for details. For more information and to reserve a space in the program (spaces are limited), please visit or call 208.726.9491.
