On Saturday, October 3, 5B Resilience Gardens is hosting a gardening workshop at the Grange Garden. This hands-on, outdoor, workshop will include: constructing a 3-bin composting system, harvesting potatoes from a potato tower, preparing garden beds for the winter, a seed saving discussion, and fall planting techniques.
What to bring:
• Work gloves, tools & supplies (details upon registration)
• Compost materials: green matter for nitrogen (non-meat and dairy food waste, fresh lawn clippings, fresh manure) and brown matter for carbon (dried leaves, shredded paper, bark pieces)
• Your own homemade compost
• Lunch to enjoy in the garden!
For those interested, we will exchange finished compost to enhance the biodiversity of existing composting systems in the community.
We will maintain physical distancing and wear masks for this workshop.
