The Sawtooth Society’s Sagebrush Soirée returns with a Silver Jubilee gala celebration and dinner in recognition of the nonprofit organization’s 25th anniversary. The Soirée will be held at Reuben and Susan Perin’s picturesque home near Stanley, Idaho, on Thursday, August 4.
The evening begins with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, and live music at 6 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner with wine pairings, entertainment, a live auction, and a rolling pledge to support preservation and protection of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
Established in 1997 as a non-partisan organization, members from both parties joined forces to fulfill the Society’s mission to preserve, protect, and enhance the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The glorious SNRA encompasses 756,000 acres of endless scenic mountain beauty including 900 miles of trails and more than 300 lakes.
In recognition of his tireless advocacy on behalf of the SNRA, Idaho Representative Mike Simpson will be honored at the fête with the first “Champion of the SNRA” award given by the Sawtooth Society in recognition of his outstanding contribution in preserving, protecting, and enhancing the SNRA.
A separate “Cocktails and Conversation” reception for Rep. Simpson will be held before the Soiree from 5-6 p.m. Space is limited.
Over the last quarter-century, the Society has fulfilled its mission through advocacy, preserving open space, enhancing the SNRA’s recreational facilities and services, facilitating stewardship and volunteer programs, and providing project grants to enhance recreational amenities.
Table reservations may be made by contacting Kathryn Grohusky, executive director of the Sawtooth Society, at (208) 721-1495 or [email protected]. Individual tickets will go on sale on Tuesday May 24.
