One of the most sought after meteor showers of the year happens every August and Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve is one of the best places to view this incredible celestial event. Warm summer nights and clear dark skies make the Sun Valley, Idaho a prime destination to take it all in.
The 2019 Perseid meteor shower is likely to produce the greatest number of meteors on the mornings of August 11, 12 and 13. Unfortunately, on the peak mornings in 2019, a bright moon will veil many of the meteors from view. To maximize this event, it’s recommended that seekers view several mornings in a row, beginning the weekend of Friday, August 9, to Sunday, August 11 when there will be considerably more moon-free viewing time.
