What is Papoose Club?

Papoose Club is a non-profit volunteer organization that supports youth-oriented groups in the Wood River Valley through fundraising activities and community events. Everyone is welcome!The club was founded in 1954 by a group of local moms and was formally incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1975.

What is the purpose of the Club?

Essentially, Papoose Club provides important financial support to local organizations that serve children. We make it possible for kids of the Wood River Valley to grow up with access to a wide variety of activities. The Club’s mission is to promote and assist cultural, social educational and athletic activities for the children in the Wood River Valley.

What types of organizations receive funds from the Club?

Any 501(c) organization (non-profit) is eligible to receive funds from Papoose Club. Recent recipients include Higher Ground Sun Valley, Environmental Resource Center, Blaine County Education Foundation, Girls on the Run, Sun Valley Youth Hockey, Nurture, The Mountain School, Hailey Ice, Wood River High School PTA, Wood River Arts Alliance, Woodside Elementary School, Bellevue Elementary School, Wood River High School, Wood River High School, Sawtooth Botanical Garden, Pioneer Montessori, Wood River Volleyball Club, YMCA, Girl Scouts, Hemingway Elementary School, Wood River High School, Blaine County Recreation District, St. Thomas Playhouse, The Hunger Coalition, Winter Feast for the Soul, Wood River Wrestling Club, Girl Scouts of Silver Sage, Learn Alpine Skiing And Racing (LASAR), and Sun Valley Ballet Foundation.
