Seventh Generation Institute is a non-profit conservation organization founded in 2007. The Institute’s mission is to build a vibrant future for people and nature through conserving, restoring and promoting responsible use of resources.
We do this via an approach we call “new school” conservation. In contrast to “old school” conservation based on a winners-and-losers paradigm of litigation, advocacy and fighting, new school conservation is based in entrepreneurial-applied science, collaboration and impact. As we work throughout the West and beyond, we are finding common ground with people everywhere – creating new partnerships, developing new tools and information.
With two locations in Ketchum Idaho and Santa Fe New Mexico, the Institute currently has programs from local to international on such diverse topics as stream restoration, native plant and pollinator restoration, and monitoring climate change impacts.
