Sun Valley Community School is a pre-k through 12 non-profit independent school in Sun Valley, Idaho. We strive every day to instill in our students a sense of wonder, a love of their surroundings, a thirst for knowledge, and a passion for life. From our campus to the wilderness, we inspire students to think critically, engage confidently, embrace challenges, and lead impactful, purposeful lives.

Our students span two to 18 years of age, and our curriculum adjusts to meet the various developmental needs at each stage. For our Upper School students, grades 9 through 12, we combine a rigorous college preparatory program with an in-depth Outdoor Program that teaches students the value of leadership, risk management, and preserving wild spaces. Middle School students, grades 6 through 8, are engaged in the classroom as well as the outdoors, setting them up for success in the Upper School. Our Elementary School students learn the importance of compassion and community service as well as academic and outdoor skills. The Early Childhood Center is founded on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which allows teachers to create curricula around the students’ natural curiosity about the world around them. All of the divisions are immersed in the arts, public speaking, and STREAM (science, tech, reading/writing, engineering, arts, and math) programming as well.
