• Question: What travel restrictions are in place for out out of state visitors?
  • Answer: Visitors are allowed to enter the state of Idaho. We recommend checking with your state of origin to ensure there are not any travel restrictions that would prevent you from entering or exiting Idaho. .

• Question: What is the current status of COVID infection rates in the Sun Valley Area?
  • Answer: There are two resources for COVID barometers in the area:
    • Blaine County Risk Assessment
    • St. Luke's Hospital Dashboard

• Question: What are the winter skiing & snowboarding operating procedures for the 2020/2021 season?
  • Answer: Sun Valley Resort currently does not plan to implement a reservation system or visitation limits for Sun Valley Season Pass holders or Epic Pass holders on Bald Mountain or Dollar Mountain this 20/21 winter season. In certain instances they will manage peak day access for both Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain through day-ticket restrictions.  Lift tickets will go on sale in late November, and this year we encourage all guests to pre-purchase their lift tickets online.   • Answer: Yes, the air service is running into the Friedman Memorial Airport Head to our Getting Here page for all updates on flight schedules.

• Question: Will I have to wear a mask?
  • Answer: Masks are currently required when indoors and in  public spaces where 6ft of distancing is not possible.

• Question: What new safety measures will restaurants and bars be taking?
  • Answer: Restaurants have implemented requirements from the State of Idaho along with best practices from the National Restaurant Association. Connect with your favorite spot for specifics.

Phase 1 

• Out of state visitors must self-quarantine for 14 days
• Non-essential travel allowed within the state but must adhere to CDC guidelines
• Places of worship can open with strict social distancing
• Non-essential businesses that do not fall within other restrictions may re-open with social distancing protocols

Phase 2 | Currently

• Out of state visitors are allowed to enter as long as they're not from COVID "hotspots".
• Gatherings both public and private, of more than 10 people, where appropriate physical distancing and precautionary measures are prohibited.
• Social distancing guidelines of 6ft remain in place
• Long-term care facilities must require masks on the premises
• Bars, restaurants, and nightclubs can operate with seating only and must require 6ft of separation.
• Employers are encouraged to continue allowing employees to work remotely or to make special accommodations for in-house employees.

Phase 3 

• Indoor gatherings must be limited to 50 people or less
• Outdoor gatherings must remain at 25% capacity or less
• Social distancing guidelines remain in place
• Long-term care facilities must require masks on the premises
• Seating-only at nightclubs, bars and restaurants. Nightclubs can only operate as bars
• Employers are encouraged to continue allowing employees to work remotely or to make special accommodations for in-house employees

Phase 4 

• Gatherings of more than 50 people are allowed with social distancing
• Large venues to open with social distancing

Currently, all business are allowed to open with social distancing measures and mask usage in place.

Traveling in this new day and age has evolved in many ways. We ask that you are mindful to these simple guidelines so that we can all stay safe and keep things open.

• Wear a Mask | Masks usage is required in most instances. It's part of the new way life we're adapting to. We ask that you respect the changes.
• Give People Their Space | Be sure to give folks their 6 feet of space. Whether you're out recreating, on the streets or in a business.
• Limit Gatherings | Gatherings are currently limited to 10 people here in Idaho if 6ft of distancing can be maintained.
• Be Respectful,  Kind, & Patient | We ask that you respect each business's set of rules and regulations as well as respecting other peoples safety behaviors. There's a myriad of different sentiments and we ask that you be mindful of everyones own feelings. We're all navigating this new way of life and there's no time for rudeness. It takes a little more time to accomplish the simplest of tasks and we ask that you patient through it all.
• Practice Your Air High-Fives | We all love a good hand slap and handshake yet the current social norms have discouraged this behavior. We recommend a friendly wave or socially distant high-five in exchange of the full contact interaction. Extra points for jumping and air high-fiving.
• Feel Out Your Situation | We all have our own level of confidence and precautions when it comes to addressing the new way of life. We encourage you to feel out each situation that you're in and respect others body language and behaviors.
• Do Your Research | There's no one-size-fits-all set of rules, regulations, procedures and booking policies out there for everyone. Each state, city, business, travel entity and beyond might have their own set of standards. Doing a little research ahead of time will help to manage your expectations. • Plan Ahead | Reservations and booking ahead of time will make life much more relaxed and avoid the potential for grief. Make that dinner reservation, book your equipment rentals, buy your lift ticket all in advance.
• Keep Traveling | As the proper protocols for safety are implemented, we invite you to keep traveling within the regulatory confines. We certainly will be ready to welcome you with a smiling face and plenty of open space when you're ready.
