Ketchum Arts Festival

Arts, Culture & Nature

It’s time for artists and participants alike to save the date for the popular Ketchum Arts Festival 10-6 daily, July 11-13, 2014 which celebrates over 100 visually enchanting art-filled booths dispersed over Festival Meadows at the top of the Sun Valley Resort flanked by world famous Mt.

Baldy. Multicolored paragliders silently soar above grinning festival-goers who bask in the high-sun alpine summer, free live music plays non-stop, scents of delicious food permeates the air, and children squeal with joy stringing bracelets or painting faces in the free activity tent. It’s easy to find a special art piece that becomes a sentimental memory of the weekend charm. Local Blaine County artists anticipate this prominent event with huge anticipation preparing distinctive art at a volume to meet the hungry demand of festival-goers. Easily accessed by the bike trail, hiking trails, and with plenty of parking on Sun Valley Road for those that drive, this guarantees to be another summer highlight. Just don’t limit yourself to the two-hour parking spots. You’ll need more time. In fact, you’ll want to come back the next day.

The main reason to attend this year’s KAF is to delight in an array of unique artist’s wares for sale. From hand crafted windsocks, ceramics, glass blown delights, handmade wardrobe accessories (hats, scarves, aprons, and tutus), wind chimes for that special corner of your deck, furniture of all kinds, edible treasures, and locally made skin-care, there is a eclectic variety from high-end sophisticated art works by  professionals and affordable arts and crafts by emerging artists; everyone wins.

Each year, KAF takes pride in encouraging local artists to participant with many returns each year. Mark you calendar and for more information, please review the Festival Guide at www.ketchumartsfestival.com.
