Bald Mountain Summer Lift Access

Hours of Operation

Summer 2021:

Thursday to Monday  9am – 4pm

Whether you’re enjoying lunch at The Roundhouse or the of hiking trails, you can’t beat the incredible panoramic views of some of Idaho’s highest peaks and the cool temperatures on top of Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain (9150 ft.) this summer. Download the summer trail guide here.

Summer lift operations start at the end of June and run through Labor day weekend .

For 2021 Bald Mountain is open Thursday – Monday 9am to 4pm for lift assisted mountain biking and hiking. Rides down are free.

The Healthy Forests Initiative project for the summer is now underway. Due to the magnitude of the operation including heavy equipment, chainsaws, winch cables and falling debris (including tall trees), the following trails are closed effective July 6th –

Roundhouse Connector

Saddle Up

Roundhouse Lane

Olympic Lane

Mid River Run

Upper and Lower Canyon

Routing of trails around the forestry work is posted. Please only stay on marked trails. Do not endanger others or yourself.

The Roundhouse Restaurant is open for lunch Thursday to Monday from 11am – 3pm and reservations are not necessary. The ONLY way to access the Roundhouse, is to take the Gondola or ride the Christmas chair down from the top. There is no direct hiking access from the River Run base area at this time.
